After a quick run through today... I fixed up a few bugs and misplaced and down right awkward stuff.

So I need a bit more feedback on what to add, remove , improve on , on the forum.



A few things I did:
cleaned up in the CSS.
fixed the gallery
fixed the blog posting problem
added the news template bbcode
made the footer pretty
move the admin link to a secret place - just incase some hacker gets staff passwords... he won't find the link to the admin panel at the very bottom
Turned the announcements back to the 3 column display as once where.
Almost done with the new bottom toolbar
going to clean up the javascript and templates soon.



What ideas have you got?
seen something cool on other forums or other forum versions and what to see it implemented?

While still a bit slow and quirky, ego-one is running MUCH better than it did a week ago. So whatever you're doing is definitely helping!

One reason ego-one can be slow and quirky at times is the number of script files you're loading. Right now you're loading prototype, scriptaculous, and two versions of jQuery, as well as several plugin scripts that are contained in one of the above frameworks. Each additional script causes a drop in performance and opens another door to potential event conflicts. I bet that you could cut the number of script files you load in half, with no feature loss -- and ego-one would run faster AND with fewer conflicts.

Any chances of a theme changer anytime soon? xP

I dont know what, but I would like to see some interactive features on the forum. Such as an always open shoutbox at the top of the forum.

currently I'm having problems with all my old jquery style changers.
None are working... I don't know if forumotion changed something or I'm doing something wrong... but they just don't work

plus I don't see a better theme than currently used.

I've cleaned up a lot of code that was unused.
I think the forum is a lot faster ... and I think its at its peak.
But dion is still jumbling up some extras to quicken ego-one.

since forumotion has a limit of 30 default avatars... I'm going to start thinking of rebuilding the avatar system.
I think I'll leave the upload from url input box and give you guys a list of the avatars urls... you can select your avatar from there.
only problem is that you can upload other images...

For me the site now loads fine without any lag occurring.

Bug: Well thing over the forum content which you newly added. I guess you are still working on it. The chrome thing gets cut for me.

Suggestions:
More contests, quizzes to be organized. Maybe not always in a chatbox. Also, it need not always require prizes as grand as in the 2010 contest that just ended.

Maybe a new light classic skin after a while.

yeah I actually went debugging on firefox yesterday and noticed the problem with the tables.

there is a padding issue.
I'll be working on that.

right now I'm also trying to figure out what to do with post profiles... since they have lost their slide to view function...

personally I'd just do without having posts and gender and all that crap on profiles.
if you really want to see the persons profile just click his avatar.
maybe that's what I'll do...

Yeps, the name & the rank just look fine.

I have also improved the posting tools for news bloggers ...

I bet they'll find the tools most useful.
